What does a new GCC actually need?

What is a GCC?
A Global Capability Centre (GCC) is an offshore centre that a multinational owns and runs itself, rather than outsourcing to a vendor. India hosts over 2,000 GCCs, which increasingly own products, AI, engineering, cybersecurity, analytics and global business processes.
Why not just hire an IT services firm?
GCCs exist partly to bring capability in-house. We sell what a captive still has to buy (scarce skills, security, platforms, automation, incentives and local services) and design our own work to transfer into your centre rather than create a long-term dependency.
When should a company engage before opening a GCC?
Six to twelve months before opening. City, incentives, entity, leadership and the first procurement decisions are made then, and many of the highest-value choices are gone by the inauguration.
